Description of Problem 100000014931

I'm unable to remove the drum and toner from my Brother machine. What can I do? (stuck, clicking noise)

Description of Solution 200000019271

The drum and toner can become stuck in the machine if a generic (non-Brother) toner cartridge is installed in the machine.

There is a drive gear and developer joint in the machine that breaks dueto the non-Brother toner cartridge drive gear becoming difficult to rotate. After some prints have been made, the non-Brother toner cartridge causes high stress on the machine#s toner drive gear and the result is a broken gear and developer joint inside the machine. The drumand toner is then difficult to remove and becomes stuck.

NOTE: Brother strongly recommends that customers do not use generic drumunits and/or toner cartridges, or refill their Brother toner cartridge. Each Brother laser printer is designed to work at pre-set temperatures that are matched exactly to each of our individual toner formulations. Each individual component is designed to work with the other to ensure quality and reliability. Using non-Brother supplies may affect the hardware performance, print quality and machine reliability. The Brotherlimited warranty does not apply to any problem that is caused by the useof unauthorized third party drum units, toner cartridges or toner.
