How do I duplex copy? How do I make a copy on both sides of a page?

Description of Solution 200000030878

The duplex copy feature allows you to make a double-sided copy of two single-sided documents. The Brother machine cannot automatically copy or scan a two-sided document.

To duplex copy documents, follow the instructions below:

1. Do one of the following:

- Place the documents you want to copy in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) face up, top edge first.

OR

- Place the document you want to copy face down on the flat scanner glass.

2. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to enter the number of copies you wish to make (up to 99).

3. Press the DUPLEX key.

4. Long Edge Flip and Short Edge Flip refer to the orientation of the second side when using the duplex function.

- Long Edge Flip means that both sides of the duplex copy will be able to be read by flipping the paper on its long edge, like turning pages in a book when the original print is in portrait orientation or like flipping pages over in a note pad when the original print is in landscape orientation.

- Short Edge Flip means that both sides of the duplex copy will be able to be read by flipping the paper on its short edge.

a. For Long Edge Flip, press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select: 1sided -> 2sided L.

b. For Short Edge Flip, press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select: 1sided -> 2sided S.

5. Press OK.

6. Press START to copy the page.

- If you placed the documents in the ADF (automatic document feeder), the machine scans the pages and starts printing.

- If you placed the document on the scanner glass, continue to STEP 7.

7. After the document has been scanned, a message will appear asking if there is an additional page. Press the UP ARROW key to select Yes.

8. Place the next page face down on the scanner glass.

9. Press OK. Repeat STEPS 7 through 9 for the remaining pages.

10. After all the pages have been scanned, press the DOWN ARROW key to select No when the message appears asking if there is an additional page.
