duplex copy feature allows you to make a double-sided copy of two single-sided
documents. The Brother machine cannot automatically copy or scan a two-sided
duplex copy documents, follow the instructions below:
Do one of the following:
Place the documents you want to copy in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) face
up, top edge first.
Place the document you want to copy face down on the flat scanner
Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to enter the number of copies you wish to
make (up to 99).
Press the DUPLEX key.
Long Edge Flip and Short Edge Flip refer to the orientation of the second side
when using the duplex function.
Long Edge Flip means that both sides of the duplex copy will be able to be read
by flipping the paper on its long edge, like turning pages in a book when the
original print is in portrait orientation or like flipping pages over in a note
pad when the original print is in landscape orientation.
Short Edge Flip means that both sides of the duplex copy will be able to be read
by flipping the paper on its short edge.
For Long Edge Flip, press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select:
1sided -> 2sided L.
For Short Edge Flip, press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select:
1sided -> 2sided S.
Press START to copy the page.
If you placed the documents in the ADF (automatic document feeder), the machine
scans the pages and starts printing.
If you placed the document on the scanner glass, continue to STEP
After the document has been scanned, a message will appear asking if there is an
additional page. Press the UP ARROW key to select
Place the next page face down on the scanner glass.
Press OK. Repeat STEPS 7 through 9 for the remaining
