When installing the software suite or printer driver in Windows, I receive an error beginning with 0x0 or 0x8 and the installation fails. What can I do?

This is an indication that there is a problem with the computer's operating system or something is interfering with the installation.  Try disabling all firewalls, anti-virus or other security software suites and install again.


If you still receive the error message you may be able to add the printer using the Add Printer Wizard. For instructions on how to add the printer using the Add Printer Wizard, refer to a solution for your operating system: "How do I add a local or network printer driver on a Windows XP computer?"


If you cannot add the printer using these steps, please contact your computer manufacturer or system admin for support.
