Can my Brother machine print a report to verify a fax I sent was received?

Description of Solution 200000035381

You can use the Transmission Verification Report as proof that you sent a fax.  This report lists the name or fax number of the receiving party, the date and time of the transmission, the duration of the transmission, the number of pages transmitted, and whether or not the transmission was successful.

This report is set to "OFF" by default and automatically prints if a fax transmission is NOT successful.

There are several settings available for the Transmission Verification Report:

- ON: the Transmission Verification Report prints after every fax you send.

- ON+IMAGE: the Transmission Verification Report prints after every fax you send. A portion of the fax's first page appears on the report.

- OFF: the Transmission Verification Report prints if your fax is unsuccessful due to a transmission error. This is the default setting.

- OFF+IMAGE: the Transmission Verification Report prints if your fax is unsuccessful due to a transmission error.  A portion of the fax's first page appears on the report.

NOTE: The image will only appear for the ON+image or OFF+image if the Real Time Transmission is set to OFF.

To verify if Real Time Transmission is off, follow the steps listed below:

1. Press the FAX mode key.

2. Press MENU, 2 (Fax), 2 (Setup Send), 5 (Real Time TX).

3. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select OFF.

4. Press OK.

If your transmission was successful, OK will appear next to Result on the Transmission Verification Report.

If your transmission was not successful, NG will appear next to Result on the Transmission Verification Report

To set up the Transmission Verification Report to print after every fax you send, follow the steps listed below:

1. Press MENU, 2 (Fax), 4 (Report Setting), 1 (Transmission).

2. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select OFF, OFF+IMAGE, ON, or ON+IMAGE.

NOTE: If you send a lot of faxes to the same place, you may need more than the job numbers to know which faxes were sent successfully. Selecting ON+IMAGE or OFF+IMAGE will print a section of the fax's first page on the report.

3. Press OK.

4. Press STOP/EXIT.

To view a list of the last 200 Fax Transmissions, follow the steps listed below:

1. Press MENU, 4 (Print Reports), 1 (Transmission), 1 (View on LCD).

2. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to scroll the listing of last 200 fax transmissions.

3. Press the STOP/EXIT key.

To print a report for the last fax transmission, follow the steps listed below:

1. Press MENU, 4 (Print Reports), 1 (Transmission), 2 (Print Report).

2. Press the START key.

3. Press the STOP/EXIT key.

NOTE: When sending a fax to multiple fax numbers (Broadcasting), the Brother machine will print a broadcast report to let you know the results (which faxes where sent successfully and which may have failed). This report cannot be turned off.
