I am unable to remove my drum and toner from the

strongly recommends that customers use only genuine Brother drum units and/or
toner cartridges. Each Brother laser printer is designed to work at
pre-set temperatures that are matched exactly to each of our individual toner
formulations. Each individual component is designed to work with the other
to ensure quality and reliability. Using non-Brother supplies may affect
the hardware performance, print quality and machine reliability. The
Brother limited warranty does not apply to any problem that is caused by the use
of third party drum units, toner cartridges or toner.
Open the front cover by pressing the button in the center of the front cover and
remove the drum and toner assembly by lifting the drum slightly upward and
pulling the unit out.
you can remove the drum and toner, discontinue troubleshooting.
you cannot remove the drum and toner, go to STEP 2.
the toner cartridge carefully. If toner scatters on your hands or clothes,
immediately wash it off with cold water.
Verify the black link arm is attached to the left side of the front cover.
the arm is connected and you are still unable to remove the drum and toner, go
to WARRANTY OPTIONS.
the arm is present but detached, go to STEP 3.
the arm appears to not be present, go to STEP 4.
Reattach the black link arm to the front cover assembly as shown below.
After reconnecting the black link arm, go to STEP 5.
Find the small opening in left frame. In the opening should be a black
tab. Pull the black tab out from the machine and reconnect to the front
cover assembly as shown below.
Remove the drum and toner assembly by lifting it slightly and pulling it out.
If you are able to remove the drum and toner, discontinue
the arm is connected and you are still unable to remove the drum and toner,
continue to WARRANTY OPTIONS.
