Description of Problem 100000033610

The Scanner is hooked up but it will not feed paper or do anything what is wrong?

Description of Solution 200000043092

Check the paper feed path and ensure there is nothing blocking the feed path; sometimes blowing compressed air through the scanner will help.

Please make sure the scanner is powered off before using compressed air.

If the feed path is clear and the problem persists perform the following steps:

A.    Ensure that the scanner is connected directly to a working USB port on the computer.  Try connecting the scanner to a USB port on the PC that is working with another device.

B.    Ensure that the customer is using a good USB cable, 6 feet or less in length.  Try connecting the scanner and PC with a USB cable that is working with another machine; connect the scanner directly to the PC

C.    After doing the above and with the scanners connected to the PC;

a)    For Windows XP => Click on Start button and choose Scanners and Cameras

b)    Form Windows Vista or Windows 7 => Click on Start button and choose Device and Printers

c)    For Windows 8 press the Windows Key + I key to open the menu.  Choose CHANGE PC SETTINGS then choose DEVICES.
