Description of Problem 100000034429

Why do the labels curl and jam inside mach toward the end of the label roll?

Description of Solution 200000044142

The adhesion of the label to the backing will decrease as the labels roll ages.  As the roll gets smaller, the labels tend to pull away from the backing tape.  This tendency combined with the age of the roll, the edges of the label could separate from the backing tape and cause a jam.

The environment can also increase this effect which causes the labels to separate from the backing tape.  All unused DK tapes should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight (below 77 degrees F and in a RH 65% or lower humidity environment).  This will prolong the useful life of the DK rolls and reduce the possibility of poor performance or jamming.
