Description of Problem 100000036940

Why does one inch piece of lead tape feed prior to every label that prints out and can this tape waste be eliminated?

Description of Solution 200000047123

Due to the design and construction of the tape mechanism, it is essential to feed a certain amount of tape through the machine before the first label (for more detail, see end of document).  However, by printing labels consecutively, subsequent labels can be printed without this excess tape when Chain Printing is selected in Print Options.

Note: The P-touch label printer feeds an inch of blank tape before printing the first label.

The label that was printed will remain in the machine.  If there is a label printed previously, it will feed out.  Clear the text on layout and create another label.  When the last label printed, press the "Cut" button on printer.

There is approximately one inch of space between the print head and the cutter blade within the P-touch label printer.  The three layers of material that make up all P-touch labels must pass over this space in order to be sealed correctly, see below illustrations.
