Create a Multi Layered Mix Media Butterfly

Intro Post
When it comes to creating, I am a fan of mixing and matching my materials and art mediums. What helps me bring it all together? The ScanNCut DX, of course! For this project, I was seeking something bright, fun, and that could work for either seasonal or year-round decoration.

Supplies Needed:

  • ScanNCut DX, standard mat, assorted papers and materials to cut, shadow box, acrylic paint, dimensional paint, sequins, buttons, fibers, liquid adhesive, and thread.

When making a project like this you want to measure and know your ideal sizing before you begin. I also recommend gathering a cohesive color palette of materials so that you are able to create smoothly, with products that coordinate seamlessly. Having all of my materials ready and on my desk made it all the more fun to bring this project into reality. A project similar to mine would be wonderful in the format of a canvas, album cover, or even a card! There are many ways to layer and enjoy the colors, textures, and materials that you can get from a ScanNCut DX – and with the auto blade it means you can switch materials without worry!
