ScanNCut Specialist May Flaum gets into the trick or treat spirit by creating a spine-tingling, eerie Halloween mask with her ScanNCut and a little imagination.

When it comes to Halloween, I love customizing everything from treat bags to my home décor! One of my favorite things to customize is to take ready-made pieces for costumes and use my imagination to create a one-of-a-kind piece that will be a part of an outfit or costume for Halloween. In this tutorial video, I will show you how to do just that on one of my favorite bases: a plain mask.

Supplies Needed:

  • ScanNCut DX, thermoplastic, Clear (Stencil) Plastic, black Cardstock, mask base, acrylic paint (assorted colors), heat tool, hot glue, tulle, pearls, and sequins.

The mask can be created yourself or purchase one at a craft store as your base if you prefer. From mermaid to a dragon, superhero to spooky witch, you can customize with any shapes, design, level of intensity, colors, and theme that you can imagine. In this project, I am using cut files that come with the ScanNCut DX Innov-is SDX230D, so you can get right to cutting and creating. For a mask like this, vinyl, stenciling, thermoplastic, felt, and more can all add so much to your creation. I hope that this project inspires you to test out your ScanNCut DX and see how far your creativity can take you this Halloween.
