How to Create Designer Floral Boots

It is no surprise I am a fashion girl. I love everything about it and never turn my nose up at anyone expressing themselves however they want through clothes. Fashion should be fun. It’s truly a form of art. I know that most people use their Brother ScanNCut to do crafty projects, but I always love to think of ways to create fashionable moments with it. I’ve found ways to create my own fabric, upcycle old clothing, create designer clothing and so much more. I love how versatile this machine is. As long as you have an open mind and think outside of the, there is so much that you can do.

When looking through fashion magazines or scrolling through social media, I tend to come across designer pieces I would love to have in my possession, but the price tag always stops me dead in my tracks. Recently, during fashion week, a fashion blogger was photographed wearing some incredible knee high boots. I mean, they were stunning! The price tag however was shocking. Let’s just say it was in the ballpark of about $2000. Yikes! For less than 1/20th of that price I was able to create my own and the best part is, I was able to choose the colors I wanted and the floral design. I will always go for a lesser price tag and custom option any day.

Let’s make some boots.

Supplies and tools:

• Brother ScanNCut
• Brother ScanNCut Cutting mat
• Brother ScanNCut Tape or painters tape
• White Faux Leather
• Fabric Paint
• Paint Brushes in various sizes
• Fabric glue
• Flower Cut Files (Floral 1, Floral 2, Stem)
  
• Heavy Books (Optional)

Instructions:

1. Tape the faux leather to the cutting mat to make sure that it stays in place.

2. Download the cut files and open it up in canvas. Lay them out on the left side of the mat.

3. Duplicate each of the files, mirror them and lay them out on the opposite side of the mat.

4. Prior to cutting, create a test cut. If necessary, make adjustments.

5. Cut out the designs and set aside the outline. Those should remain white.

6. The others should be painted. I painted mine in pink and orange. Get creative! Don't forget to paint the stems.

7. Allow to dry for 2-4 hours.

8. Glue each painted flower onto the white faux leather base. Allow to dry. (Optional: Place books on top to ensure it adheres.)

9. Once flowers are dry, Apply glue to back of flowers and glue to the outside of a boot. Allow to dry. (Optional: Place books on top will ensure it adheres.)

10. Repeat on the opposite boot.

11. You're done. Strut your stuff in these designer inspired boots.
