Intro Post
Tip: Sometimes the paper left over after you cut is a great project opportunity! In this night light, I combined it with vellum in order to create a soft (battery operated!) candle covering.

Supplies Needed:

  • ScanNCutDX
  • Standard mat
  • Vellum
  • Ribbon or twine
  • Assorted cardstock
  • Double sided tape/adhesive
When looking to make creative lighting crafts, I recommend looking to battery operated faux candles. Safe, easy, and it frees up your creative options! In this project I combined cardstock with patterned vellum to create a very easy nightlight to take on sleepovers, campouts, and more. The trick is to measure your candle or container (if using one) so that you can size your designs appropriately. Keep in mind that the curve of a candle like mine shown in this project will mean that to have your full design show in one view, it must be small enough.

Looking for alternative ideas? Try layering sticker vinyl on a clear acetate base, creating a hanging lantern instead of table top candle, or a series of tiny tealights! The options here are as endless as your own imagination
