If you suspect you've been contacted by a scammer, below are some suggested measures you may take to better protect your information

  • Change your passwords for your device and all accounts containing personal information (email, financial, etc.).
  • Run a security scan or contact your security software provider to check for malware.
  • Document all the details of the scam attempt and report it to the appropriate agency
  • In the United States, you can report scams to the Federal Trade Commission (available in English and Spanish).
