Create A Painted Globe with ScanNCut

Brother Crafts Blogger

You guys, I love this painted globe that I made with the help of my ScanNCut machine:

Globe-wm

It was super fun and easy!  I found an old globe at a thrift store:

I cleaned it up and then I used my ScanNCut machine to cut vinyl words for all of the continents and oceans:

And then I applied them to my globe using a gridded transfer sheet:

Once I had all my text in place, I painted over the continents with black acrylic paint...

...and the oceans with several shades of blue paint.  Once the paint was dry, I peeled off the vinyl lettering with a sharp pair of tweezers:

Note that I used two different types of vinyl for this project.  I used the Brother craft vinyl for the masking of the continents and oceans (it's removable) and a more permanent vinyl for the final lettering shown below. To finish my globe, I added my favorite travel quotes in gold vinyl:

I love how it turned out!

This was a super fun project to do and now I can't wait to get my hands on another globe to try out more painty ideas!

Talk to you next week!
