Intro Post

After a long and cold winter, it is great to get back to warm weather and bright summer hues! In this project, I am going to show you how to create your own word art, your own cut file, and make your own canvas ready to hang on display in your home.
The best part? This project requires no knowledge of fine art, painting skills, or drawing talent! The true beauty of this project is that you can add color in any way, shape or form – and it’ll be wonderful! Circles, blobs, lines, dots – whatever brings you joy. When you remove the vinyl and the word art is revealed – you’ll be left with stunning results every time! I hope this project inspires you to cut loose with some artistic creativity and enjoy summer fun.

Supplies Needed:

  • ScanNCut DX
  • Standard or low tack mat
  • 12” canvas
  • Sticker vinyl
  • Transfer material
  • Acrylic paint
  • Brushes
  • Pick tool (to remove vinyl at end)
Tip: While you can do this with cardstock or paper, sticker vinyl is much more effective in getting crisp lines, firm grip, and an overall better-looking finished product.

Tip: Saving each word individually let me adjust the size, position, and look of my word art used on this project. To change a word simply select all cuts within the word, then in edit screen press to unify. Now you can change that word easily, beautifully, and create amazing things!
