VIDEO: Pintucking Pt. 1 Embellishing Fabric with a Serger

~Written by Brother Sews Blogger

Did you know your serger can do so much more than finish seams? Let me show you how to design your own customized fabric with pintucking, all on the serger! I will walk you through marking your fabric to create a design, changing the settings on the serger for pintucking, and tips for altering the look of the pintucks. This is such a fun technique! Once you get the hang of serging pintucks, experiment with different threads like variegated colored and different textures with silk or rayon threads.

Supplies needed:

• Brother Serger, I'm using the Brother Project Runway Serger 5234PRW

• Blind-hem foot, included with most Brother sergers

• Cotton fabric

• Tailor’s chalk

• Quilters Ruler

• 3 spools of thread (experiment with variegated colored thread for a unique color combination)

Then, in Part 2, follow along as we sew a zippered bag. We will prepare the fabric, learn to sew in a zipper, and stitch perfectly straight lines using the Sew Straight 2 Laser Vision Guide
™. Lastly, we will add a touch of bling to zipper. This mini- zippered bag is a perfect organizer!

This is such an easy, fun project. Experiment with different fabric and threads for totally different look!

Happy Sewing!
