"Let's get together and talk sewing!" Brother Sews Ambassador Event
Energized. Creative. Productive. And above all, fun.
These were some of the comments heard last week as members from the Brother Sews HAD (Home Appliance Division) department got together with the Brother Stitching Sewcial Ambassador team for a wonderful and educational two-day conference.
Hailed as the First Annual Brother Sews Ambassador Event, the Stitching Sewcial contributors gathered in the picturesque town of Saint Joseph, Michigan, home to Angela Wolf’s sprawling new business HQ. A former bank that she converted to all things embroidery and sewing, the studio was the perfect size to host this first-time event.
In attendance for the conference was Anna Aldmon from Anna’s Awesome Appliqué Designs,
Joanne Banko from Let’s Go Sew,
Rebecca Kemp Brent from Creative Machine Needlearts,
Janice Ferguson from Janice Ferguson Sews,
Cindy Hogan from Cynthia’s Embroidery,
Laura Pifer from Trash to Couture,
Emily Thompson from Life Sew Savory,
and lastly, our host, Angela Wolf from Fashion Sewing with Angela Wolf.
Mathew Boudreaux, aka, Mister Domestic,
had a scheduling matter and couldn’t make the event but we hope to see him at the next one! Day One started as a ‘get to know you’ type of day. For many of the ambassadors, they had yet to meet one another but before you knew it, stories were swapped, cell phone pictures were shared and by the end of the conference, contact information was exchanged and hugs were a plenty. Leading things off on the first day, the HAD team went over Brother social guidelines, Stitching Sewcial blog best practices and future projects. Marketing concepts were presented, and feedback was welcomed. In between topics, delightful snacks were devoured, and delicious lunches were delivered (Thanks Winn!). Here, the discussions kept going as an open forum of conversation took center stage. Day Two brought more of the same as the Brother HAD team brought out additional information yet continued to encourage group participation. Constructive suggestions were listened to and practical recommendations were met with agreement. One of the many highlights of the conference was the group brainstorm on Day Two. Here, all the ambassadors shared their ideas and concepts for a fun Brother Sews project that they would all collaborate on. After a dynamic round of creative whiteboard writing (and erasing), inspired ideas bounced around and we eventually gathered everything together to create the Ultimate Holiday Project. We can’t divulge any details just yet but stay tuned as we get closer to the holiday season for the big reveal!! Lastly, Angela hosted her bi-weekly Facebook Live event with all the ambassadors as her special guests. Although there were some technological issues, Angela managed to get two educational sessions that were filled with quick tips and lots of laughs. It was a great way to end the conference. [youtube id="jPLswXhuaX4"] As you know, the lineup of Brother Sews ambassadors cover a wide variety of sewing related topics; from chic fashion to everyday apparel, from home décor to house warming gifts, and from quick tips to detailed tutorials and everything in between. And we all agreed that this meeting was long overdue. With a fresh sense of energy, the Brother Sews Ambassadors left the conference feeling excited about what they are looking to bring to you, our loyal Stitching Sewcial audience. The Ambassadors are ready to bring you the best in sewing, embroidery, quilting, heirloom, and crafting tutorials. All in all, it was a great conference, and we look forward to another fantastic event with this amazing group of talented sewers, crafters and artists.
