How do I clear the message "Fail to Warm Up" from the display?

The message FAIL TO WARM UP will appear on the display if there is a mechanical malfunction in the Brother machine.  In order to clear this message, the machine will need to be reset.

 

Resetting the machine by unplugging it from the AC power outlet and plugging it back in will erase all faxes in memory and the Fax Journal Report. However, there is a way to transfer faxes in memory and the Fax Journal Report to another fax machine.

 

NOTE: In order to transfer data from your fax machine to another, you must have the station ID programmed in your fax machine prior to the error appearing.

 

1. Verifying faxes in memory:

 

a. Press MENU/SET, 9, 0, 1. Note: This menu option will only appear if the LCD is displaying an error message (example: unable to scan, no paper fed, etc). The menu option will NOT appear if a status message is displayed on the LCD (example: Toner Low).

 

i. If there are NO faxes in memory, the LCD will display NO DATA.  Go to STEP 4.

 

ii. If there are faxes in memory you can transfer the faxes and/or transfer the Fax Journal to another fax machine:

 

-      To Transfer the faxes to another fax machine. Go to STEP 2.

 

-      To Transfer the Fax Journal. Go to STEP 3.

 

2. To Transfer Faxes to Another Fax Machine

 

a. Enter the fax number of the machine you want to receive the faxes.

 

b. Press START.

 

3. To Transfer the Fax Journal to another Fax Machine:

 

a. Press MENU/SET, 9, 0, 2.

 

b. Enter the fax number of the machine you want to receive and print fax journal.

 

c. Press START. 

 

4. If there are no faxes in memory OR you have transferred all faxes in memory and/or the Fax Journal Report to another fax machine, unplug the Brother machine from the power outlet for at least two minutes and then plug it back in.

 

5. Confirm what appears on the display:

 

-      If the error message has cleared and the date and time appear on the LCD, the issue is resolved.

 

-      If the message FAIL TO WARM UP or a Machine Error appears on the display and your machine is within warranty, you can locate a Brother Authorized Service Center (ASC) in your area by clicking on http://www.brother-usa.com/service/default.aspx or contacting Brother Customer Service by calling 1-877-Brother (1-877-276-8437) Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. 

 

If your machine is out of warranty, you can locate a Brother Authorized Service Center using the information listed above.
