If TONER LIFE END
continues to appear on the LCD after installing a replacement toner, answer
the following questions:

END continued to appear? This means the TONER LIFE END message NEVER
cleared and NO pages were printed after the new cartridge was installed because
the TONER LIFE END message remained on the display.
B. Was the
cartridge replaced and cleared TONER LIFE END, but the message returned after
some usage of the new toner? This means a new cartridge was installed and
the TONER LIFE END message cleared. Then, after printing some pages, TONER
LIFE END re-appeared on the LCD.
If the answer is
A, go to STEP 1.
If the answer is
B, refer to the solution - I
recently installed the starter or a new toner cartridge and I don't think I got
the full yield from the toner. What can I do?

2. Was a NEW, out of
the box, genuine Brother toner cartridge (TN110 or TN115) installed as a
replacement toner or was a used genuine Brother toner from another machine was

the box genuine Brother toner MUST be installed to clear the TONER LIFE END
message. Do NOT install a previously used or installed toner cartridge
from another machine. Our toner cartridges are manufactured with a reset
lever that moves when installed into the machine and notifies the machine a new

machine that needs to be reset, the used cartridge lever is NOT in the proper
position to trigger the machine to reset and the error will not clear from the
