Description of Problem 100000020295

Why is one inch piece of lead tape feed prior to every label that prints out and can this tape waste be eliminated?

Description of Solution 200000025646

Due to the design and construction of the tape mechanism, it is essential to feed a certain amount of tape through the machine before the first label. However, by printing labels consecutively, subsequent labels can be printed without this excess tape.

1. In P-touch Editor, click File => Print.

2. In the Print dialog box, select Chain Printing and then click Print.  The label will remain in the printer until the next label is printed.  Continue on creating and printing out the next label.  When all the labels are finished, press the CUT button on the printer to feed out the last label.

Note: Chain Printing can also be selected in the printer Printing Preferences.

1. Click on Start => Control Panel => Printer (for XP click Start => Printers and Faxes).

2. Right click on the model PT9700PC or PT9800PCN and then select Printing Preferences.

3. In the Printing Preference dialog box, under the Basic tab, select Chain Printing.

4. Click Apply and then OK.
