How do I make duplex copies on my Brother machine?

You can reduce the amount of paper used for copies by duplex copying.  Duplex copying allows you to copy on both sides of a single sheet of paper.

 

NOTE:

 

- You cannot make a duplex copy of a two-sided Legal-size document.

 

- (P) means Portrait and (L) means Landscape.

 

 

Follow these steps to make duplex copies:

 

NOTE: Do not load your documents before you reach the step instructing you to do so.

 

1. Press the STOP/EXIT key to put the machine in Ready mode.

 

2. Place the document(s) you want to copy face up in the ADF.

 

3. Use the dial pad to enter the number of copies you want to make (up to 99).

 

4. Press the DUPLEX key.

 

5. Do one of the following:

 

- To make a duplex copy using long edge flip, follow these steps:

 

a. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select a flip type.

 

You can select 1sided - 2sided, 2sided - 2sided, or 2sided - 1 sided.

b. Go to STEP 6.

 

- To make a duplex copy using short edge flip, follow these steps:

 

a. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select Advanced.

 

b. Press the OK key.

 

c. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select a flip type.

 

You can select 2sided - 1sided or 1sided - 2sided.

 

 

d. Go to STEP 6.

 

6. Press the OK key.

 

7. Press the START key.

 

- The machine scans the page(s) and starts printing your copies.
