How do I clear the message

The message "Drum
!" will typically appear on the LCD if the primary corona wires on the drum
units need to be cleaned or if the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly is not
1. Fully open the top
cover by lifting up on the handle.
2. Looking at the
toner cartridge and drum assemblies, make sure the black handle of the drums are
visible for all the assemblies. If any of the assemblies are gray, not
black, this means the toner cartridge was installed without the drum. See

are black, go to STEP 3.
If any of the
handles are gray, you are missing the drum unit(s). The toner cartridges
have to be installed into the drum units prior to installing the toners into the

3. Carefully remove
all the drum unit and toner cartridge assemblies identified on the LCD. Be
sure to place the assembly (ies) on a clean, flat surface with a piece of
disposable paper underneath in case of spilled or scattered toner.
4. Clean the primary
corona wire(s) inside the drum unit(s) by gently sliding the green tab from
right to left and left to right several times. Be sure to return
the green tab to the home position on the left side before you put the
drum/toner assembly back into the printer. If you do not return the green tab to
the home position, it could result in a vertical stripe on printed
5. Reinstall the drum
unit and toner cartridge assembly(ies) into the machine by sliding it into the
correct slots. Be sure to match the toner cartridge color to the same
color label on the machine.
6. Close the top cover
of the machine. You will hear a loud click when the top cover is closed

error message continues to appear.

continues to appear, confirm if you are using genuine Brother drums and
recommends that customers use only genuine Brother drum units and/or toner
cartridges. Each Brother laser machine is designed to work at pre-set
