How do I perform the Wireless Setup Install in a Windows or Macintosh operating system?

Setup using the DVD-ROM and USB cable for Windows and Macintosh operating Systems.

Windows Users:

Macintosh Users:

 

For Macintosh Installation, insert the DVD-ROM into your DVD-ROM drive and double-click Start Here OSX. 

NOTE: IMPORTANT: Macintosh 10.9 drivers are not available on the DVD.  Please download them from our website.

1.    Select wireless installation and follow the Wireless Device Setup instructions on your computer screen.

You will be prompted to select your device from a displayed list. 

 

2.    Choose your device and click NEXT.

 

NOTE:  If your wireless settings fail, the Wireless Device Setup Wizard screen appears.  Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the wireless configuration.

 

 

3.    Please select if you will be using a USB cable, then press the NEXT button.

 

4.    The Installation of the Brother drivers will automatically start.  Please wait for the software to install.

 

NOTE:  You may need the machines MAC address, (Ethernet Address). 

For ADS100W please use Web Based Management Utility on your computer.  If you do not have this utility installed you may download it from our website.

For ADS1500W Press Tools Icon, then press Network > WLAN > MAC Address.

 

5.    If the Setup Network Scan To name screen appears, type a name for your Macintosh, up to 15 characters. 

 

 

6.    Click NEXT when finished.

The name you type will appear in the destination drop down list in Scan to Network Device from the Scan tab in Web Based Management for the ADS1000W. 

The name will appear on the LCD of the ADS1500W when you choose a scan option.

 

 

For Windows Installation

1.    Put the DVD-ROM into your DVD-ROM drive. 

 

2.    When the model name screen appears, choose the model you are installing.

 

3.    When the language choice option appears, choose the language you wish to install.

 

Note: If the Brother screen does not appear automatically after inserting the DVD-ROM, do the following.

a)    Open the Computer (My Computer) applet.

b)    For Windows 8 users Click the File Explorer icon, then go to Computer.

c)    Double-Click the DVD-ROM icon and then double-click Start.exe to launch the installation process.

 

4.    Click Install MFL-Pro Suite and click Yes if you accept the license agreements.

 

 

NOTE: For Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8, when the User Account Control screen appears, click Allow or Yes.

Click Yes if you accept the license agreements.

 

5.    Choose Wireless Network Connection and then click NEXT.

 

6.    When the Firewall/AntiVirus detected screen appears, choose Change the Firewall port settings to enable network connection and continue with the installation.

 

 

7.    Click NEXT.

 

8.    Follow the onscreen instructions to set up the Brother machine.

 

9.    You machine will now try to connect to your wireless network.  It may take a few minutes.

 

10. Wireless setup is now complete. 

11. The Wi-Fi light on the control panel lights up, indicating that the machines Network I/F is set to WLAN.

 

12. Please continue with the MFL-Pro installation to complete the install process.

 

 

13. Choose your machine from the list displayed on the computer screen and click NEXT.

 

 

14. The installation of the Brother drivers will automatically start. 

 

15. Please follow the installation screens to complete the install process.

 

 

16. When the online registration screen is displayed, please make your selection and follow the on screen instructions.

 

 

17. Click Finish to restart your computer.
