Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sew far, sew good I’ve really enjoyed sewing on the machine. I choose it over my d2500 now. I took a class yesterday and the teacher tried it and goofed it up royally. I missed most of the class trying to fix it. Brought it home and hubby fixed it (he took a class with Brother and they had to tear one apart and put it back together). Last night it was sewing like a dream again. Love it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice machine but, to small for my needs I saw the Brother PQ2500SL online and considered purchasing it. I had to take my Brother computerized sewing/quilting machine in for service and saw this machine being used. Being new to quilting I thought it was the machine for me. In addition, I purchased the brother quilting frame and professional software package. I was excited with the thought of having my own set-up in my sewing room. Once everything was set-up the realization bubble of what I had initially thought was everything I would need to do my own quilting was burst. My machine was to limited. While it's a great machine, it's just to small to meet my needs without a lot of additional work to complete my project. I'm disappointed in that perspective. Now, I need to look in my piggy bank to see how much a larger machine will cost and then what will I do with a sewing machine that has only been used for about an hour. Uugh!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this machine This machine comes with all the accessories I need to learn FMQ and to do most of the straight sewing I do. Love the extension table for this and look forward to lots of fun projects.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this Brother machine I retired and purchased this machine to replace an old machine that had trouble with the tension. This machine has been wonderful. It is only for straight stitching but that is what 95% of my sewing is. My daughter, who has never sewn, came to make burp clothes for a baby shower and was able to pick up on the machine quickly. She said the machine was easy to sew straight and accurate. I would highly recommend purchasing this machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my Brother I've been sewing for 60 years and have never before had a machine as fine as my Brother PQ1500SL. I chose it for its superior quilting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value As a beginning quilter, I did a lot of research and compared this model to similar models that cost much more and couldn't come up with a reason to not buy this one over the others. Not wanting to review it without a fair number of hours on it, I waited until now, at which time I've completed approximately 7 quilts. Initially, It was supposed to replace a 30-40 yr old Kenmore 12 stitch machine used for piecing, but a short time later I bought a quilting frame and I now use this exclusively on the frame. I have no complaints about the machine and any sewing problems have been caused by me (leaving the foot up, not checking tension before sewing, typical beginner's mistakes.) I have seen complaints about the threader, but I just take my time with it and use tweezers to pull the bottom thread up like another reviewer suggested. I'm mechanically oriented so I like the manual thread tension; it's simple and does the job once you're familiar with it. It stitches very, very well and there have been no skips while quilting on the frame. Yes, for those interested, it does have small throat area for a quilting frame, but it's much larger than standard home sewing machines and much, much less expensive than one with a larger throat. All in all, I think is one of those purchases that are an excellent value for the money.spent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great machine for piecing and free motion quilting Great for piecing - super fast!!! Sews really straight when feeding. Also on quilt frame using as a mid-arm machine - very easy to use the free motion quilting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome choice I finally decided to upgrade to a new machine for quilting. This machine did not disappoint! I love the large harp (throat), it is much bigger than my Singer machines. I am new to quilting to this machine was well worth the money. Just right!
