A great value. I bought this product about 9 month ago and am very satified with it. Good print speed, picture quality and large print area The only thing is the bypass feed is a little awkward since it is in the back.

PRO
1. It's the best deal anywhere for 11x17 printing capability and high-capacity dual paper trays. Lots of plastic, but cleverly engineered.
2. Despite its required oversized footprint, it's an attractive piece of desktop office equipment.
3. The setup instructions suck a little less than those of other printers I have used. If followed very carefully, there are only one or two instances of instructions being ambiguous or not producing predicted results. It appears that English might even be the native language of its authors.
4. The scanning process from the computer is very user-friendly.
5. The color-coded front-access ink-cartridge compartment is extremely convenient.
CON
1. The darkest print, even on on the "Best" setting, is gray; not black.
2. Colors, even on the "Vivid" setting, are washed-out oddly-tinted approximations of the real colors.
3. The default front-panel mode setting to which it always returns automatically is FAX, even though FAX is seldom used by anyone anymore. This results in the nusance of needing to select COPY to initiate every use as a copier, even if COPY was the previous mode last manually selected.
4. In the COPY mode, the machine takes far too long busily grunting, groaning, farting, clicking and clacking, in preparation for producing a single-page copy, and then in silent recovery from producing the copy. If you are not using the ADF and want to copy something else, the "Please Wait" message is interminable before the START button can be pressed again. I soon learned to go do something else between copies, and come back later.
CONCLUSIONS
I would buy it again because of its price and features, but --
1. I keep a cheap 5-year-old standard-size printer of another brand connected for photos and for documents that have to look good.
2. I'm going to experiment with aftermarket ink brands, to see if I can find one whose black ink for this printer is really black.

I don't do a lot of printing but much of what I do benefits from being able to print on both sides of the paper efficiently. The MFC-J6710DW fulfills that need admirably. Its being wireless is also a plus. The printer has not jammed once in over a year's worth of use. Great job, Brother!

A very good product. The print quality is clear and sharp. The fact that it can print and scan 11 x 17 makes it all the better. Most functions are intuitive and easy to use. The only exception is making auto paper tray selections. This could be a little better and the head seems to stop up and needs to be cleaned a little more often than I am used to. Overall, a great machine that I would buy all over again!
