This is the second Brother Multi-function printer I've purchased and it will be my last. Scans or copies using the ADF began having lines down the page after a few months of moderate use - 5 to 10 pages a day. Cleaning the glass, etc recommended by Brother support did not fix the problem. The only fix was to replace a part. Then I have no scanner while the machine is in the shop. I just bought a Snap Scan by Fuji after this one broke. It's a much better scanner.

This printer replaced an HP inkjet that was always out of expensive ink cartridges. I bough this printer for my wife to use upstairs. She couldn't belive how fast it printed the 1st page. I know it will be a long time before we need toner. It will duplex also, so I will send big print jobs up to this printer.

This printer works as advertised. My only complaint is the cost of replacement cartridges. You should also know this about me: I have the same complaint about all printers.
The cost of the printer is good...about the same as 2 refill cartridges.
