    A dream come true
Finally got a Scan N Cut after eyeing it for over a year. Love it. Have not cut fabric with it yet, but intend to use it to cut applique patterns for my machine embroidery. Did use it to make some Christmas gifts using vinyl and card stock for ornaments. I knew I would love it when I first saw it. Being able to scan the material into the background to see where to cut your design let's you use up every bit of the paper/fabric.

    Great cutter; Good Scanner
One must be very careful in scanning that things are black and white....no dark or light grey figures, not even near-black or near-white. Otherwise the sensitive scanner has the machine try to cut out dots and lines. Except for that, the machine is wonderful, especially for folks with arthritis who can no longer use scissors, or those who are klutzy whose matte knives produce ragged cut outs.

    Very nice machine
Im extremely pleased with my Scan N Cut. I believe the mats could use improvement. They lose their stick quickly. Ive found methods to deal with that, however, it would be way preferable that i didnt need to. The Canvas program likewise needs a bit of fine tuning. I bought another to use instead. As for the actual machine...I love it! It does amazing things i hadn't imagined beforehand.

    Retired and learning new things
I purchased my Scanncut after retiring so that I could learn to do some of the things I've always wanted to learn to do. Sewing, embroidery, and appliqué was not what I originally had in mind when I purchased the machine, but when I saw the ScanNcut used with the Brother sewing machine I was sold. I'm still in the learning phase and simply love how user friendly this machine is.

    Great Purchase
I was looking for a machine to help cut my quilting fabric and found the CM550DX ScanNCut machine. I went ahead and bought it. It was the greatest purchase I made. I loved the fact that you can cut perfect Quilting squares, Triangles or whatever shape you need to quilt with. I went ahead and purchased the 12 x 24 inch matte and am now able to cut larger quantities and sizes of fabric quilt blocks/patterns needed. Greatest Purchase in my quilting hobby.

    Limitless Possibilities!
While I have only just started "playing" with this wonderful ScanNCut 550, I can imagine the possibilities in many applications. It cuts well and I love the fact that when I resize a built in pattern it will adjust each piece of the pattern's elements at the same time. Also being able to do one measurement at a time in some cases is valuable also. Being able to apply a new tacky spray to the mats is very helpful after using it for several projects. Love this machine!

    Good purchase
This was one of the best purchases I have every made. This is just what was needed at the school my granddaughter attends to save time on cutting out paper items for the display board and for the students to use.

Great Addition to my Sewing Room
I bought this item when Hancock Fabrics went out of business. I've found so many uses for it. I've cut vinyl letters/monograms for my travel cups, a banner and custom drawn drink coasters for party favors. There is a bit of a learning curve, but you can get tons of help on YouTube. The downside is I can't buy accessories locally in Houston. I have to buy them online. I really like my Brother ScanNCut!

    Brother Scan N Cut 350
I have had a Gazelle cutter and a wishblade cutter. I really enjoy the 350 but, my only problem is finding the USB sticks with the designs I like and finding the mats for embossing, I don't care about rhinestones or quilting. I also love to make my own cut filed. I do wish Canvas was a little more detailed like other cutting software. My cuts are perfect but the mats are not really sticky enough to hold the cardstock and have to use masking tape all the time. SOmetimes the masking tape lets ... read more loose and gets stuck to the scanner and have to turn it over and try and peel the masking tape off. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase.

    Nancy
I do love the ScanNCut! I have the 1st Edition in KY and the 2nd Edition at our Winter home in Florida. There are so many useful features but I wish it had more built in designs. The other thing is if I don't use it often, I forget how to find the edit buttons. It's always been a guessing game and wish that part was more user friendly. The icons on the machine aren't very clear as to what they actually do. A built in tutorial would be helpful. I take every ScanNCut class I can but until you use ... read more it regularly, I find it frustrating. I wouldn't have any machine though. All in all, I think the quality and versatility of the machine makes it a winner!
