The wireless printer is connected to the network. How do I install the printer driver in Windows?

1.    Ensure that you are logged on to your computer with Administrator rights.  If you are using a personal firewall (other than Windows Firewall), anti-spyware, or antivirus applications, temporarily disable them.

 

2.    If you have the supplied CD-ROM, verify the CD-ROM lists the operating system installed on your computer.

 

-      If the operating system installed on your computer is listed on the CD-ROM, go to STEP 9.

 

-      If you do not have the supplied CD-ROM or the operating system installed on your computer is not listed on the CD-ROM, you will need to download the software from the Brother web site. Continue to STEP 3.

 

3.    For instructions on how to navigate the Brother website to download the software, please click here Continue to STEP 4.

 

4.    Click Next to start the installation.

 

 

5.    After reading and accepting the License Agreement, click Yes if you agree to the terms.

 

 

6.    Select the model you are installing from the list and click Next.

 

7.    Select Standard Installation and click Next

 

 

8.    Choose Brother Peer-to-Peer Network Printer and click Next.  Go to STEP 15.

 

 

9.    Put the supplied CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. If the model name screen appears, choose your machine. If the language screen appears, choose your language.

 

NOTE:  If the CD does not automatically run, browse to (My) Computer and then double click on the Brother icon to run the CD.

 

10. The CD-ROM main menu will appear.  Click Install Printer Driver for U.S.A. / Canada / Latin America.

  

11. Select Wireless Network Users.

 

 

12. Select Driver Install Only and click Next.

 

 

13. After reading and accepting the License Agreement, click Yes if you agree to the terms.

 

 

14. Select Standard Installation and click Next

 

 

15. Select Search the network for devices…, and then click NEXT.

 

 

16. Choose the Brother machine and click Next.

 

 

NOTE: If the No devices could be found screen below appears instead of the screen above to select the network printer, click here.

 

 

  

17. When the On-Line Registration screen is displayed, you can click Brother Registration and follow the on-screen instructions.  Once you have completed the registration or if you have already registered your Brother machine, click Next.

 

18. When the "Setup Complete" window appears, make the following selections, and then click Finish:

 

-      You may select On-Line Registration

 

-      You may select to Set as Default Printer.

 

-      You may select Enable Status Monitor to turn on a software tool that monitors the printer.

 

 

19. Setup is complete.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Troubleshooting for No Devices Found

 

If a message appears informing No devices could be found, check the following then click Yes:

 

1.    Check the Brother machine is powered on and there are no error messages on the display.

 

2.    Check there is no network cable connected to the back of the Brother.

 

3.    If you are using a personal firewall (other than Windows Firewall), anti-spyware, or antivirus applications, temporarily disable them.

 

For Windows Firewall users, click here if you need instructions for disabling the Windows Firewall.  For a third-party firewall, such as Norton or McAfee, refer to your software's documentation for instructions on how to disable the application.

 

4.    Check your computer is connected to the same wireless network as the Brother printer.

 

5.    Click the Yes button on the bottom of the screen. 

 

6.    Continue from STEP 16 of the printer driver installation steps.  The printer should now be detected on the network.
