    Best Gift
I received this machine as a gift and I couldn't be more satisfied. It is the first Serger I have ever had but wanted for many years. The DVD included in the instructions is fantastic and very easy to follow. I loved how I could pause it when I needed. I was surprised at how easy it was to thread. I was able to use it in a very short time which was exciting. Everything I've done so far looks so professional. What can I say...I really DO love this machine!

Sewing machine is jealous of my serger
I was putting off buying a serger due to intimidation. It took me a week after receiving it to pull it out of the box. Once I started it I was in love. I use it for almost everything! Makes all projects so much quicker and I feel confident when making clothing that they look professional. I recommend this machine to everyone. The only issue I had was re-threading the machine. The instructions are not 100% clear but a quick search on YouTube and I was able to re-thread.

    Great product and support
I have been sewing for many years (35 plus) but did not have an interest in sergers until the last 5-10 years. I was hesitant to use one because I would have to learn all its features by myself. The first serger I bought (non-Brother brand) worked ok but soon after purchasing, began having issues. There was no one to ask for help. When I finally took it to the shop because timing was off, shop said it was unrepairable. This certain shop was a Brother dealer and recommended I replace my old ... read more serger with a new Brother. I investigated all my options and brands. I came back and purchased a Brother for the features, price, and techniques dvd and book included with the machine. Having the techniques showed to me step-by-step really was the final selling feature for me. Additionally, I broke one of my knife blades b/c I left a pin in my material. The replacement of knife was easy, quick, and I was back to serging again immediately with no further adjustments or professional intervention. Definitely worth my investment on this product.

    So I conquered my fear!!!!
I was so surprised how easy it was to use a serger after years of looking at what I thought was a monster machine. I am loving this machine. I love the instructional video included and the fact that it provided initial thread spools. Well worth the money.

    Very pleased, thus far
My Baby Lock broke after 50 years and I was forced to get a new serger. I did a lot of research and chose this one particularly for its features; i.e., the free arm, ease of threading for my failing eyesight. My research proved out. This machine is extremely well designed in every way. If I had any suggestion for improvement, it would be for a longer cord between the machine and the foot pedal! I find this one REALLY short. The table and the video are very nice/helpful additions. I have just ... read more used it for regular serging so far. I'm still experimenting with stitches and just got elastic foot to try. It has won me over. I do hope it lasts as long as my Baby Lock!

    Love it
I have only had my serger a few months, but I have had to tackle the hard stuff!! By that I mean thread it. And I was successful the first time!! I did keep the book right next to the serger while I was doing it. It seems to be easy enough to get the tensions correct. With the holidays being here, and being so busy I have not had enough time to try and experiment with it. But now that those are past, and it stops raining I can run over to JoAnns and get some fabric to practice with and see how ... read more the different stitches are accomplished.

    Brother 3034D serger
This is my first serger. I was a bit nervous about using a serger because I had heard that they were touchy and difficult to thread. This serger is easy to thread with the color coded diagram in the machine. The quality of the stitch is good and stitches can be adjusted. There is also an open arm for ease of sewing sleeves. I am using the machine mostly for clothing construction.

    Finally Bought a Serger
I reviewed lots of sergers -- very inexpensive ones to very expensive ones. I settled on the Brother 3034D because if I didn't like it or got bored with it, I wouldn't be upset over wasted money because it wasn't expensive. I wasn't upset and I didn't waste money. This is a good starter serger and once you get the hang of it, you will be surprised how fast it is and how capable. Now I have both my sewing machine and serger out on the table ready to go.

    Great Purchase
Love this serger. It is easy to thread once you have done it a couple of times. I now can thread it very quickly. It's a little tricky to change needles because one screw controls both needles, but I have done it. It sews quite nicely. Seams look great!!!

    DZ1234 - A real workhorse
This machine is a great investment. I have used it on many different types of fabrics, from silk to faux leather and it has handled it all.
