I am new to this machine!
The machine works pretty well on the few projects I have tried. I have experienced difficulty cutting fabric, but I only made one attempt. The only place to buy supplies is at the sewing store and their stock is limited. I usually go to the other two craft stores. This is a drawback. However, I owned a Cricut and did not like the expense and limitation of having to buy the cartridges and being limited to the cartridge content for that machine. I do like the ScanNCut canvas and would like to see ... read more more projects there.

    Limitless Possibilities!
While I have only just started "playing" with this wonderful ScanNCut 550, I can imagine the possibilities in many applications. It cuts well and I love the fact that when I resize a built in pattern it will adjust each piece of the pattern's elements at the same time. Also being able to do one measurement at a time in some cases is valuable also. Being able to apply a new tacky spray to the mats is very helpful after using it for several projects. Love this machine!

    Overall a good machine
The only suggestion I have is on the software. It would be good if ANY lines on a scanned item could be deleted. I tried to put two half bodices, for a doll, together and could not delete the line between them. With the line there the machine of course cut it. I did a work around with copy, white-out the line and rescan. It worked but it was irritating.

    Gift for Myself
My husband and I recently bought a ScannCut. I have cut some fabric, and it saved so much time! I have support through my local quilt shop, and there are many educational videos available. If you can imagine it, you can cut it! I look forward to playing with this fabulous new tool!

    Scan N Cut
This is the first Brother product I have purchased. I am still learning about how that it can do. I would really have liked a printed manual to go with this that covers all the topics. Internet and youtube videos are helpful but would like something written out that helps me go slower.

    great purchase
However I'm still learning how to cut. I purchased it mostly to cut fabric shapes that I can scan. I've tried to get the scan n cut canvas people to recognize me but they don't like any email or password I've given them and they will not contact me. I'm a retail fabric store and would like to sell these when I get successful at cutting fabric.

I do love the ScanNCut! I have the 1st Edition in KY and the 2nd Edition at our Winter home in Florida. There are so many useful features but I wish it had more built in designs. The other thing is if I don't use it often, I forget how to find the edit buttons. It's always been a guessing game and wish that part was more user friendly. The icons on the machine aren't very clear as to what they actually do. A built in tutorial would be helpful. I take every ScanNCut class I can but until you use ... read more it regularly, I find it frustrating. I wouldn't have any machine though. All in all, I think the quality and versatility of the machine makes it a winner!

    Love my ScanNCut2
I have done a lot of projects on my ScanNCut and it has never let me down. I have completed decorative paper frames for pictures for my granddaughter, a vinyl monogram with a decorative frame for a wedding gift, many door decorations for my grandchildren all appropriate to their interests, HTV shirts, vinyl monograms for SS mugs, and the list goes on. My only complaint would be that the mats don't hold their sticky for as long as I would like, other than that, THANKS for a wonderful product ... read more for my creative side!

I know I have the old one, but I truly do love it. I had to take it in a couple times in the beginning because it was tearing my mats up. Brother replaced it and it has ran great ever since. Many decorations for birthday parties have been created with it. I just with that I could have more training because I see all the wonderful projects people make and I just don't know how to figure them out. Love, love, love it.

    Snan N Cut Sweepstakes
I entered the Back to School Sweepstakes, never expecting to win. (I never win anything) And then I did. I've only had a little bit of time to play with it, but I really love it. I do cut outs for the grandchildren for their arts and crafts projects. I was able to see a demo at a Sewing Expo, so that was a great deal of help. Hopefully, more time after the holidays, but I would definitely recommend this.
