All the features work great on my computer except the scanning mode. I am having problems getting accurate scans for the documents I need to scan. Other than scanning the printer works great.

I used to repair copiers, so I was pretty skeptical at first of something this small that purports to do so much. I had bought another Brother printer, an HL-2070N, a couple years earlier and had been using it as a home network printer, which worked better than any of another popular brand of printers I'd had before. So it was worth a try, and it too has worked well as a printer, a fairly fast scanner, occasional FAX, and occasional copier. No. it's not made to run a hundred or more copies at a time, but then, I seldom have a need to do that. I don't send a lot of FAXes either, but, it's a nice feature to have when I do need it and it is much quicker and more straight forward than how I used to do that using a computer (especially for hand written forms or notes). I've already recommended this model to a couple friends who were looking for something like this. Brother is one of those less well known companies with a definitely better product.

Love it. But to SCAN you must REMOVE all the paper from the feed tray. Then after scanning , reload it. My unit sits in a shelf within a corner desk designed for pc's. But the space available does not allow the paper tray to be opened without lifting the unit above the front panel. IT TAKES TWO PEOPLE, to lift the machine, and to remove the paper from the tray.
WHY ON EARTH THERE COULDN'T BE A BUTTON TO PUSH OR A SWITCH TO THROW, I HAVE NO IDEA.
Other than this its a 5 STAR.
