What can I print?
You can print photos, web pages, PDF files, as well as Word®, Excel®, PowerPoint®, and Text files (up to 10MB or 20 pages) with
Apple® mobile devices.
You can print photos, web pages, PDF files, and e-mails (Gmail only), as well as
Word®, Excel®,
PowerPoint®, and Text files (up to 10MB or 20
pages) with Android™ and Kindle Fire™ mobile devices.
You can print photos, PDF, Word®, Excel®
and PowerPoint® files from SkyDrive®
(up to 10MB or 20 pages) with Windows® Phone.
Where can I download Brother iPrint & Scan?
For Apple® mobile devices, from the Apple App Store.
For Android™ mobile devices, from the Android Market and search for "Brother"

For Kindle Fire™ mobile devices, from the Amazon App Store.
For Windows® Phone from the Microsoft Marketplace. Please go to:

you are not able to access the Windows® Phone Marketplace with your
PC, please install Microsoft’s Zune software for Windows® or Windows®
Phone 7 Connector or Windows® Phone 8 Connector for Mac or your PC.
Which connection can I use to print from my device?
You can only print to the Brother machine using a Wi-Fi connection*
to the same network that the Brother machine is connected.
*Only infrastructure mode is supported. Ad-Hoc mode is not supported.
This applies to Android™, Kindle Fire™ and Windows® phones only. Apple product can print using Ad-hoc mode.
If I receive a telephone call or text message during printing
or scanning. Can I continue to print or scan?
Yes, Brother iPrint&Scan continues to print or scan even
if you receive a telephone call or text message. However if you answer or respond
to the call or message, the printing or scanning job will be canceled.
I cannot find the Brother machine on my wireless network
connection.
Please verify the following:
- Is your Brother iPrint&Scan application the newest?
- Is the machine you are trying
to print to a supported model? Please go to

- Is the machine turned on?
- Is the access point connected
to the wireless network?
- Is your device connected to the
correct wireless network?
- Is the Brother machine you are
trying to scan to a supported model? Please go to
http://www.brother-usa.com/downloads/printing-app.aspx
- Is the correct IP address
entered into your device? Verify both the IP address of your device and the Brother
machine are correct and located in the same IP address.
I don’t see my model listed

Is the Brother iPrint&Scan app for Android™
mobile devices compatible with Brother Laser/LED products?
Yes. All models that have PostScript3 and an Ethernet interface
or wireless interface. For a complete list of compatible Brother Laser/LED models,

Printing
What type of image can I print?
JPEG or PDF for Apple®, Android™ and Kindle Fire™ mobile devices.
JPEG for Windows® Phone mobile devices.
Can I print all PDF formats? (Apple®, Android™ and Kindle Fire™ mobile devices only)
No, Some encrypted PDF files cannot be printed. When printing
a PDF file that uses fonts that are not embedded in the file, characters may be
replaced with characters of a different font, or may be garbled.
Can I select paper trays?
No, the paper tray will be automatically selected by Brother
iPrint & Scan. If you want to use the different paper tray, change the tray
settings of the Brother machine.
Scanning
Into which file format can I scan?
JPEG or PDF for Apple®, Android™ and Kindle Fire™ mobile devices.
JPEG for Windows® Phone mobile devices.
Where can I save the scanned files?
You can save the scanned files to Photo Albums.
What can I do with the scanned files?
You can save the scanned files as JPEG and PDF formats (Apple®, Android™ and Kindle Fire™).
You can share the scanned files via other applications (Android™ and Kindle Fire™).
