    You won't be sorry
I just bought this machine a week ago. Although my class to learn more about this machine isn't for 4 months, it is very easy to use and I have been able to do several things right out of the box. I cannot wait to see what all I can do once I take my class!

    A Very Nice Embroidery Machine
I have the Brother Simplicity SB7900E. It is an embroidery only machine. I’ve had it 5 months and have used it a few times a week. I upgraded from the Brother SE400 because I wanted a larger hoop, and I wanted to be able to use designs that I have saved to a USB jump drive and not have to hook up my computer to the machine (like you do with the SE400). I compared the P770, DZ820E and the SB7900E. I was going to buy one online but went to a local quilt shop/Brother dealer to see the machines in ... read more person. They only had the SB7900E. The price was similar to the other machines but came with the BES lettering software (they say a $400 value). There were also a few other options that made this one the better machine and I liked that I could buy it locally and take classes there. Note that the Brother website overview of the 7900E does not show that it has a USB port if you are comparing machines, but it does. You create your own designs and monograms in the BES and put them on a USB drive and then upload them to the machine to stitch out. Because I had owned the SE400, I was able to pull this one out of the box and use it immediately. It’s pretty easy to use. I put the BES software onto my laptop and was able to use that also. It’s similar to any windows program. It works fine on windows 8, though it’s an older version of the program. I did take a class on the software to learn all those little things that make it easier to use. I have no complaints about the machine. It has nice quality stitching. You need to use quality thread, not $1 spool discount stuff. I’m using Madeira as that is what was sold and used at the shop where I bought it. I didn’t like the #90 bobbin thread that came with the machine and switched to the #60 that came with my SE400. The machine seemed to like it better. I haven’t had to touch the tension settings. It’s still set as it came out of the box and working fine. The auto needle threader is fantastic. Really speeds up thread changes. You can fill the bobbins on the machine, then just drop one in the bobbin case and run thread through one channel and it’s done. It comes with the 5x7” hoop, and I bought a 4x4” hoop to use with smaller pieces of fabric. I was hoping I could use my SE400 hoops on this one but they have a different connector. The 7900E has a metal tab that you have to push to the left as you drop on the hoop. It takes a little practice, but once you get it, the hoop slides right on (drop the front on first, then the back just drops right in and you let go of the tab). The machine comes with 136 embroidery designs on it. I’ve only used 1 of them so far, but it stitched out nicely. I bought a few designs online and they stitched out nicely also. It comes with 6 fonts, but I’ve mostly used the fonts that come in the BES program, creating my words/designs/monograms and then uploading onto the machine from the USB. The program has over 150 fonts in it. I’m very happy with this machine.

    Super easy to operate!
I picked up sewing again after 15 years and bought an entry-level mechanical Brother sewing machine to get started. However, after using it for 2 weeks I got bored & decided to upgrade to a computerized machine. And I'm glad I did because it is surprisingly easy to use & operate! With a computerized machine, I feel more like being in the 21st century!

    So pleased!
I love this machine! It is the first computerized machine I have ever owned, and at first I was intimidated by the thought of learning how to use it. But it has come very easily to this technology-challenged 57 year old! It runs like a dream!

    Great decision
I just spent two months searching for a new sewing machine. I did a lot of research and talked with many sewers and finally was led to the Simplicity SB3129 Brother machine, as it also fit into my budget. I was very impressed with the people at the shop in Rogers, AR, as they were honest and patient with me. I went three times to talk with them. Their instructions were easy to understand. The machine is so quiet and easy to work with and I know that if I have a question or problem, they will be ... read more there for me. The manual is also easy to follow. WOW, I have never had a machine that even cuts the thread for you.

    Wonderful Machine
Have had another brand of machine for 40 years. Started quilting and my old machine was just not up to it so donated and bought this Brothers machine. Absolutely love it; has so many neat tricks and gadgets. Looking forward to many fun and easy years of quilting thanks to my new machine.

    Nice small machine
I bought this machine to take to charity sewing days, classes and sewing retreats because I don't like to haul my big, expensive embroidery combo machine. This is light enough to carry around and has enough adjustments and stitches to do about anything I want. It takes a while to get the hang of moving between the 3 sets of stitches but they do work well. My only issue is the bobbin winder, which doesn't seem to wind a smooth bobbin. I use a Sidewinder for winding bobbins, so it isn't a big deal ... read more for me, but it is something that should be improved for the next model.

    Blown Away
I originally decided to purchase a sewing machine because i was tired of having a friend always sew something for me. This machine meets and exceeds all my expectations. It is very easy to use and runs smooth.

    SB170
Love it. Wanted a small portable machine with 1/4" foot and walking foot attachments to take to quilting bees. Sometimes sews better than my big computerized machines!

    Love my new machine
I really like so many features and don't know how I lived without them before on other machines such as self threading and cutting. This is my first embroidery machine and I was a little afraid of it at first but once you get into it, it's easy. The manual is very well written and explains things well and it's very easy for trouble shooting.

    Simplicity SB8000
Just wish the screen was a little more detailed and I have fat fingers so I have to use a straight pin or something to be able to get thread after it is threaded though the needle.
