Hoops & Stabilizers

Brother Home Sewing & Sewing Supplies & Accessories - Hoops

We at Brother pride ourselves on offering you the proper tool for every need, and our extensive selection of embroidery hoops is no exception. No matter what make, model or size, we have what your job needs.

SA5931   Stablizer Roll, medium weight, fusible cut-away, 10yds

This iron on mesh style stabilizer provides a great alternative to using traditional mesh with spray adhesives. Ideal for use on any fabric that is not heat sensitive. Because it is flesh-toned this stabilizer minimizes show-through on light fabrics. This makes it prefect for a variety of fabrics, particularly knits. Provides permanent stability for stretchy fabrics without adding bulk. Excellent choice for all lightweight knits and light colored fabrics. Made to be washed with the garment. Light ironing will permanently adhere this stabilizer to the wrong side (back) of the fabric.

SA5929   Pacesetter® Heavyweight Cut-Away Stabilizer Roll 15" x 10 yds (38.1cm x 9.14m)

A cut-away type stabilizer is a frequent choice as it is important for keeping embroidery smooth during the life of the embroidered piece. The backbone of most embroidery applications, this cut-away stabilizer is recommended for medium to high density stitching. Excellent for Fleece, Jersey and Pique Knits, and for fabrics containing Lycra. Provides maximum stability on stretchy material.

SA5906   Stabilizer Roll, lightweight, adhesive-backed, water soluble, 6yds

This adhesive backed stabilizer firmly sticks to the fabric and helps minimize movement of the face fabric, keeping the fabric smooth during embroidery. Excellent for adhering to fabrics with excessive stretch, such as Lycra or spandex, it is a great choice for hard-to-hoop or small embroidery projects. Also excellent for embroidering lace type designs on sheer fabric or netting. Completely removable when submerged in warm water or through a gentle wash cycle.

SA5820   Stablizer Roll for large projects, medium-weight, tear away, 10yds

Same as SA5810, available in a wider width that is convenient for larger projects, multi-needle machines, and larger hoop sizes. With multiple uses for both embroidery and decorative stitching, this tear-away stabilizer is one you will reach for again and again. Simply place one or more layers against the wrong side (back) of your project. Sew or embroider, and then remove by pulling the excess away from the stitches. Perfect for projects that are either heavy or light weight, this stabilizer can be used on its own or as an added layer with cut-away type stabilizers. This versatile tear-away is pliable enough to be hooped with the fabric but it can also be used as a floating layer underneath the hoop. Excellent stabilizer for many different fabrics and embroidery projects such as shirts, nylon jackets, blouses, neckties, sheets, pillowcases, ribbons, and much more!

SA5818   Stabilizer Roll, heavy weight, tear away, 10yds

This firm, stiff tear-away is ideal for projects that are either heavy or light weight and require extra stability. Excellent for cotton, faux leathers, shirts, nylon jackets, blouses, neckties, sheets or pillowcases. It is best to float this tear-away under the hoop rather than placing it in the hoop with the fabric. You will find many uses for this stabilizer, including projects featuring decorative stitches on the sewing side of the machine. Simply cut strips of this stabilizer and place on the wrong side (back) of the fabric when sewing decorative stiches. To easily tear away excess stabilizer apply gentle pressure to the stitches with your thumb, and then use your other hand to pull away remaining stabilizer surrounding the stiches.

SA5815   Stabilizer Roll, medium-weight, adhesive tear away, 10 yds

This adhesive backed stabilizer sticks to fabrics with minimal adhesive transfer to garment or needle. You can use this tacky stabilizer in a variety of situations. You will find it particularly useful for items that are too small or difficult to hoop, such as collars, baby items, blankets, napkin corners, and more. Excellent for hard to hoop fabrics such as velvet, satin, leather, velveteen, and ultra-suede. This is a popular choice for fabrics that suffer from impressions left after hooping. Test first for complete removal on delicate fabrics.

SA5810   Stabilizer Roll, medium-weight, tear away, 10 yds

With multiple uses for both embroidery and decorative stitching, this tear-away stabilizer is one you will reach for again and again. Simply place one or more layers against the wrong side (back) of your project. Sew or embroider, and then remove by pulling the excess away from the stitches. Perfect for projects that are either heavy or light weight, this stabilizer can be used on its own or as an added layer with cut-away type stabilizers. Excellent stabilizer for many different fabrics and embroidery projects such as shirts, nylon jackets, blouses, neckties, sheets, pillowcases, ribbons, and much more!

SA541   Stabilizer Roll, lightweight, water soluble, 6yds

Same as SA540, but available in a large size roll. This is a firm, fibrous type of water-soluble stabilizer, with many uses as embroidery backing or topping. Excellent for embroidery applications such as towels, jersey knit shirts, pique and Lycra. Unlike the clear film type product, this fibrous water-soluble is designed not to perforate from the needle penetration. This type of stabilizer is a must have for creating freestanding lace. Excellent for embroidering high stitch counts, it does not readily tear or separate. It is also soft and pliable, making it easy to hoop. Feel free to use more than one layer as needed. Ideal for many creative sewing and embroidery projects, including invisible needle turn appliqué and artistic scarves made out of thread and yarns. You can safely write on this stabilizer with a water-soluble pen. Useful as an added stabilizer for buttonhole-making too. This water-soluble stabilizer requires thorough rinsing in warm water for complete removal.

SA540   Stabilizer Roll, lightweight, water soluble, 25yds

This is a firm, fibrous type of water-soluble stabilizer, with many uses as embroidery backing or topping. Excellent for embroidery applications such as towels, jersey knit shirts, pique and Lycra. Unlike the clear film type product, this fibrous water-soluble is designed not to perforate from the needle penetration. This type of stabilizer is a must have for creating freestanding lace. SA520   Stabilizer Roll, lightweight, water soluble, 3.2yds

Genuine Brother® Accessory. This lightweight stabilizer is known as a film type of water soluble stabilizer. Up close it has the look of a clear plastic film but it actually washes away completely with warm water. This makes it ideal for situations when you need the stabilizer to completely disappear after you have finished stitching. Commonly used as a topping on napped fabrics such as towels, consider using this stabilizer on a wide variety of textured and napped fabrics where it is likely that the stitches will sink into the fibers. It is a good idea to add this topping when embroidering on knit fabrics to help raise the stitches above the tiny ribs found on many knits. This type of stabilizer is also a great added layer for embroidering sheer and lightweight fabrics including chiffon and organza. Simply add a layer on top of the fabric and on the bottom, sandwiching the thin fabric in between. Remember that the fabric you are using must be washable in warm water. In addition, keep in mind the fact that this provides only temporary support for the stitches. Some designs will require additional, non-removable stabilizer for support both during and after embroidery is complete.

SA519   Stabilizer Sheets, medium-weight, iron-on backing, 3 11"x12" sheets

Genuine Brother® Accessory. 3 pieces included. This white, paper fiber iron-on stabilizer provides a stable surface for machine embroidery, keeping fabric from stretching and distorting while it is in the hoop. This stabilizer is useful for projects that require a temporary stabilizer. Use a warm dry iron to attach to the wrong side (back) of your fabric. When finished with embroidery, gently tear-away remaining stabilizer. Test first for complete removal on delicate fabrics.
