StampCreator Frequently Asked Questions
SC-300PC
SC-300PC
Q.What
is the technology used in the Stamp Creator? How are stamps created?
A.The
StampCreator uses Brother's Thermal Printing Technology to create a silk screen
image on the covering of the stamp pad. The surface of the pad is a special plastic
film, that allows the ink in the pre-inked pad behind it to flow through the image
created by StampCreator.
Q.
How many impressions can I expect from a stamp?
A.
Under optimum conditions, you can expect up to 2000 impressions. This will depend
on use patterns, storage conditions, temperature and humidity. Due to the nature
of the pad, you may get more impressions, but they may become lighter. Because of
problems in use and storage, Brother is unable to guarantee the number of impressions.
Q.
Can the ink be refilled?
A.
No. This is a pre-inked stamp which currently cannot be re-inked.
Q.
Is this a rubber stamp?
A.
No. This does not have a raised surface, requires no ink pads, and is ready to use
immediately. The ink in the stamp pads is fast drying.
Q.
What comes with the StampCreator?
A.
The StampCreator comes with one PSS 30 stamp in black. It also comes with the software
to create stamps using Windows 3.1, 3.11 or Windows 95. The cable is also included
for either a 9 or 25 pin serial port. A test handle, for the printing of labels
and test sheets is included, as well as labels for the stamp. An AC adapter is provided.
Q.
What are the system requirements for the StampCreator
A.
You will need an IBM compatible PC, 386SX or faster, running Windows 3.1, 3.11,
or Windows 95. The software requires 4.2MB of free hard drive space, a mouse or
other pointing device, and at least a VGA graphics card.
A Macintosh upgrade is available as an option, MACKTSC. The SC 300PC will interface
with this package, which will include Macintosh software and cables.
Q.
Will the Stampcreator produce graphic images?
A.
Yes! The unique software package allows you to print the images stored as clip art.
In addition, you can import graphics saved as BMP, DIB or ICO files. This gives
great flexibility for placing logos and other art work on a stamp. You can scan
logos, graphics, pictures, even signatures, and import them into the StampCreatro
software. The software also includes a drawing program.
Q.
How does the PC print to the StampCreator?
A.
The software includes a special print driver. During set-up, you select the driver
and enable it using the COM PORT you have the cable connected to. The software steps
you through the set up. What could be easier?
